Lots of Cooking Classes for the Spring

Spring is definitely in the air! I'll be doing lots of classes in the lovely Inspiration Kitchen at Airfield Estate. Really excited to be doing some hands-on classes as we all learn best by doing!
Here's what's coming up:
Thursday 7th April | 6:30 - 8:30 pm During this hands-on cooking class you will learn how to make the most of seasonal vegetables as we make several tasty vegetarian dishes. This class will cover blanching, roasting and quick pickling.
14th & 15th April | 10 am - 12:30 pm daily During this two-day workshop you will learn some basic cooking skills as we make one savoury and one sweet dish each day. Day 1 will be inspired by South East Asia, will be making spring rolls, and day 2 we will heading to South America for some tacos.
Wednesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm | 11th May, 18th May, 25th May and 1st June
This hands-on, skills-based series covers the skills that home cooks need to take their culinary education to the next level. Each week we'll focus on different cooking techniques so that you will develop the confidence to cook more at home.
Week 1: Knife Skills & Vegetables Week 2: Chicken Technique – including spatchcocking, pan sauce and stock. Week 3: Egg Techniques – will cover separating eggs and whipping whites as you learn how to poach eggs and make perfect omelettes, as well as mousse and soufflé. Week 4: Beef & Pork Techniques – understanding searing and brown braising.
21st & 22nd May | 10 am - 2:30 pm This two-day workshop is designed for all who love to bake. During the class we will cover the various principles and categories of bread, from sodas through to quick yeasts and enriched doughs. It will help to demystify the science of rising, knocking back dough and proofing. You will take home your delicious baked goods. A light lunch will be provided each day.
8th - 10th June | 12 - 5 pmDuring this three day class, your TY student will learn the basics of cooking including kitchen safety and knife skills.
A good barbecue is more than just the meat. During this hands-on class we will focus on creating several different and tasty side dishes that can all be made in advance. These side dishes will make the most of the bounty of fresh produce that is available – it will cover how to marinade and char vegetables.
16th June | 6:30 - 8 pm As well as cooking several delicious fish dishes this hands-on class will cover how to buy fish and how to make sustainable choices. On the menu will be Slow-Roasted Fish with Fennel, Citrus, and Herbs, Crispy Fish with Lemon Caper Butter and a Braised Asian style fish with Seasonal Greens.
23rd June | 6:30 - 8 pm Banish boring salads. During this hands-on class we will show you how tasty and interesting salads can be by adding some healthy grains, roast vegetables, quick pickles or crunchy nuts and seeds. You will also learn how to make a few really good dressings.
